I am Fatmanur Turan and I am 23. I graduated in 2017 from Hamitler Toki Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, Computerised Accounting Department. It wasn’t a conscious choice to attend this school and pursue this field of study.
Various conditions and my high school placement test (SBS) score were decisive. When selected, I had second thoughts, but when the courses began I knew I was in the right place. I embraced my field and developed myself.
The most important contribution of vocational high schools is learning a profession. When I graduated, I understood better that studying in a vocational school means finding a job easier because we learnt the smallest details about business life and received support in this regard.
Sometimes we see the benefit of things that we have studied later in life, not while studying. When I was in 11th grade, I had the chance to get training on e-commerce and accounting practices in Hungary for 3 weeks with the Erasmus project organised at our school.
Unfortunately, I couldn't get into university in the first year after graduation, but I immediately got into business life and improved myself in my field. I have been working at a company for three years now, and I am studying in the faculty of an Open university. I'm glad I went to a vocational high school, which added another string to my bow.
