From 29 August to 19 September 2021, there was an Erasmus mobility training in Braga, Portugal, for which I applied without hesitation. My goal was to take part in at least one mobility when I started my studies at the Ptuj School Centre in Slovenia.
I knew it would be one of the best experiences of my life. I had high expectations, and my mobility training in Braga exceeded them. The mobility included going to the company where we had our work placement during the week.
The traineeship gave us an insight into the company and its production processes. At work, we interacted with locals, the Portuguese culture and even some essential courtesies and greetings in the local language. We were free to explore the city as we wished in our free time.
On weekends and days off, we explored the sights around Braga. We also visited some of the larger towns in the area. As the weather in Portugal is still quite warm at the beginning of September, we spent some time on the coast and took a dip in the Atlantic Ocean whenever we had the chance.
The Erasmus mobility programme not only broadened my professional knowledge but also introduced me to a foreign culture, way of life and the beauty of Portugal.
