I never thought I would travel to Italy, but I had an opportunity to do a two-week internship at an advertising agency in Palermo. I was very excited about the trip. It was my first flight and overnight stay abroad.
Everything was perfectly organised, and we got there without any problems. We stayed in a lovely hostel. Everyone had their own corner, but we also had a common space. The first days in this bustling city were full of excitement. Together with our tutors, we got to know the area a bit and visited our workplaces.
The views were breath-taking. They differed significantly from those in Poland. We started our apprenticeship on Monday. I think everyone was a bit stressed and curious about the tasks entrusted to us. As it turned out, the stress was completely unnecessary. The Italians are very friendly and open.
They showed us around the studio, explained how the equipment works and told us about what they do. At the weekend, we had a tour of Pompeii, the Valley of the Temples and the Belvedere di Monte Pellegrino. All good things come to an end and so it was time to return.
Although the whole group wanted to see their relatives, we felt a bit sad that we had to go home.
