We are delighted to be reaching out to you again to encourage more and more people to Discover their Talent, and to inform you about the annual VET flagship event. We are looking forward to spreading the word and increasing awareness about the exciting world of European Vocational Education and Training. This is especially important in these demanding times that require great flexibility in what we do, ensuring no one is left behind in this fast-changing world.
The specific theme for European Vocational Skills Week 2022 is VET and the Green Transition - in line with the EU’s vision of becoming climate neutral by 2050, as outlined in the European Green Deal.
The Week will put skills at the heart of the green transition. Food for Thought: What new skills will we need to thrive in an environment that protects earth’s valuable resources? What role can VET play to ensure a sustainable transition for all?
The VET Excellence Awards are back – Showcasing excellence in VET
The 2022 European Vocational Skills Week will feature another series of the stellar VET Excellence Awards. Now is the time to start thinking about your applications. We will be in touch early next year about the process of submitting your applications.
Commission presents guide for a fair transition towards climate neutrality
The European Commission has issued policy guidance in the form of a proposal for a Council Recommendation for a fair and inclusive transition towards climate neutrality, to complement the package on delivering the Green Deal presented in July.
Europe to develop individual learning accounts and micro-credentials for life-long learning
To meet the demands of a fast-changing labour market, people need to develop skills throughout their professional careers.
In order to help people develop the skillset they need in their adult lives, it’s important to do away with any obstacles and provide them with motivation, time and funding.
To this end, the EU has put forward proposals regarding individual learning accounts and micro-credentials for life-long learning to help meet the target set in the European Pillar of Social Rights Action Plan – that is to ensure that at least 60% of all adults take part in training every year by 2030.

After all, the right to education, training and lifelong learning is enshrined in the European Pillar of Social Rights, right at the top.
