Apprenticeship Development

I have been working for Designer Group for over 4 years, I joined the DG as a 2nd Year Mechanical Apprentice. Throughout my apprenticeship I met so many highly experienced tradespeople within the company on various projects and the support and guidance I got from those then led to me being selected as one of two mechanical apprentices to represent DG in the first ever ‘Generation A Competition’ in 2018 and with the guidance form our managerial team we were very successful and we became the first ever winners of the competition. I then became Qualified and with this you gain more responsibility as a tradesperson and you are then passing on your guidance onto the apprentices coming up after you, which I took great satisfaction from, because if I could help one or two apprentices along the way then I was doing what a good tradesperson had done to me. I have Progressed into a new position within the company and I have become a Planning Engineer and DG are also supporting me in doing my Building Services Degree in TU Dublin. I have had a great path to where I am now, and I hope to continue to progress and have a very successful career.
