I began working with Designer Group back on the 10th of August 2015. I joined Designer Group as a 1st year plumber apprentice with no previous experience on building sites. From day one I was treated very well by everybody and I was guided into the right direction. I learned a lot from all the projects I was working on and I will always be grateful for the opportunity Designer Group gave me to start my apprenticeship. Their involvement and support throughout the phases in college and the phases on site was important for my development. Being an apprentice could be very tough at times especially from a financial point of view. Most important advice I would give everyone is to concentrate and pay attention to learn the trade and to be persistent and getting involved in the work they carry out. With only a couple of months left to complete my apprenticeship and due to always working hard, I was asked if I want to develop my career with Designer Group even further by taking on a Building Engineer course in DIT Dublin and to move over to the Planning Dept. to become a Junior Project Planner. It did not take more than a few seconds to say yes and to start a new chapter in my career.
