Students from Vocational High School of Tourism in Burgas, Bulgaria set up a restaurant that operates in a COVID-19 pandemic. As part of their practical online training, they planned all steps, through which the establishment would pass from the beginning to the end of the crisis situation. How to react in the event of an epidemic - such as the one the industry has been facing in the last few months - is not mentioned in any textbook. That is why the students themselves decided to create an action plan.
The team gave a name to their project - Revival after Pandemic. They made a calculation of the invested funds and discussed various situations during the pandemic and after it.
In order to avoid cutting staff, the waiters of the student restaurant were included in volunteer groups.Four chefs were hired. They even planned to sign a contract for donations to the Infectious Diseases Department of the largest hospital in the district - UMHAT - Burgas. The tasks in the restaurant were distributed in such a way as to meet the condition for receiving assistance from the state through the measure 60/40.
