Career education or technical education – choice is yours

Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) is sometimes referred to as career education or technical education. There are a couple of extraordinary representative models, how TVET can be a source of motivation and astronomic help for individuals at all ages. One of those examples comes from the Eni Corporate University in Milan, who postulate that “Eni Corporate University is dedicated to the development of technical and managerial knowledge and development and promotion of Eni’s corporate identity and employer brand.”

Eni Corporate University organises and manages the TVET program Management and the Economics of Energy and the Environment (MEDEA).

The classes differ in size and personalities year by year. In the academic year 2008/2009, the classes size was overwhelmingly large-scaled. Nevertheless, the success of the graduates is remarkable. It was unquestionably, an interesting experience to observe how students have been supported and what powerful methods have been in use, for promoting education at different levels, throughout more experienced groups, graduates and combination of people experience from all over the World in business, political, national and technical interest.

Nevertheless, several persons from that large group had possibly, to take in to account a very complicated geopolitical, interest conflict, security dilemma, ethical paradox and say “I’m not playing games, I’m just moving on. Thanks for your time!” Years later, it's clearly brilliant to observe, that the voluntarily or non-voluntarily acquired knowledge, is still in use and business is bushed on with all available and non available methods in numerous fronts in Italy, Norway, Estonia and in many other countries.

Another remarkable example is the TVET program in the Norwegian Public Roads Administration (NPRA), called “UNG-programmet” in the academic year 2011/2012. The NPRA TVET program followed main points from the suggestion from the World Bank's 2019 World Development Report on the future of work, reflecting that adaptability between general and TVET particularly in higher education is imperative to enable workers to compete in dynamic labor markets where technology plays an more and more essential role.

TVET program included representatives from all the important occupational roles in the NPRA and the meeting places where placed all over Norway, covering many geographical locations and numerous examples from planning, construction and operation of the state and county road networks, driver training and licensing and vehicle inspection. Similarly, to the previously described TVET program, the participants have deepened the occupational capacities over the course duration, and this includes abilities, capabilities, dispositions, experiences, judgement, knowledge, protocols, skill sets and techniques. Together, these TVET programs reveal that knowledge plays an important role in the productivity and prosperity of economies, organisations, and individuals.
