Throughout 2019, events and activities are taking place across Europe as part of European Vocational Skills Week. The actual Week will take place between 14-18 October in Helsinki, but there are plenty of events throughout the year to get involved in.

European Vocational Skills Week aims to promote the value of vocational education and training (VET). Over 1000 events and activities have already registered from all over Europe, and the number keeps growing!

VET-related organisations in Denmark are also playing an active role in the Week, promoting international VET mobility.

In Vejle for example, the Danish Agency for Science and Higher Education has organised and hosted a two-day seminar on national mobility and the European Credit system for Vocational Education and Training (ECVET). The seminar was open to VET schools and other stakeholders. The event combined presentations and workshops, with the overall objective to promote and develop quality in Vocational Education and Training as well as job mobility.

Social Entrepreneurship Copenhagen (SOCENTPH) has organised a training on pitching skills for young entrepreneurs in the Danish capital. The training was provided in collaboration with Innovation Lab Asia to coach a delegation of South Korean start-ups in preparation for their participation in this year’s pitch competition at TechBBQ, the largest start-up and innovation summit in Scandinavia held each year in September. This was therefore a key opportunity to bridge and enhance cooperation between European and Asian innovation ecosystems, particularly for young Danish entrepreneurs.

Taking part in the Week therefore provides a unique opportunity for Danish organisations working in VET. To take part, VET-related organisations simply need to register their events and activities taking place during 2019. No matter how large or small the event, or how small your budget or footfall may be, you can take part by registering on the European Vocational Skills Week 2019 website.
