Arts and Design Vocational Skills Day, Ireland, 13 November 2019

Colaiste Stiofain Naofa College in Cork is hosting an event in conjunction with European Vocational Skills Week. The college will be encouraging young students and adult learners to explore a range of art and design skills, and to consider the college's specialist Vocational Education and Training (VET) programmes.

Afternoon workshops and seminars will be held on print-making; collaging; laser-cutting; 3D scanning and animation, amongst others.

The Irish college will also host an in-house exhibition by staff members to help students understand the VET programmes its art department offers.

Organiser Stefanie Dinkelbach outlined that VET is a fantastic path for young people and adult learners who might consider vocational training as a career option. She explained that “Students [...] use the opportunity to gain skills, confidence and maturity before embarking on their studies at third level institutions in Ireland and abroad”.

Visitors will be invited to workshops on 13 November 2019.
