My name is Anete, and I have always enjoyed participating in different competitions. One of the most challenging ones was young professionals competition EuroSkills, which took place in Sweden, in 2016. My teacher of Daugavpils Secondary School of Design and Art “Saules skola”- upper secondary vocational educational institution offered me to participate in the selection of young professional who would represent Latvia in graphic design skill. I got picked, and I decided to enter the competition without hesitation. I learned quite a lot during the competition and from my expert. I still use these skills even though I'm acquiring restoration art right now. I gained new computer skills and learned how to present my designs to people. I'm using this knowledge till this day when I need to form my school work, create posters and other visual materials. I believe that any skill you gain is precious, despite direction in what your life turns in. VET gives you a lot of practical advantages because you can never master a skill if you only have theoretical knowledge. VET experience and EuroSkills has taught me how to train myself in creating new ideas and achieving my truest desires.
