New starts with an apprenticeship

anna-m.jpg

My first profession was a cook, as I studied at a vocational school and high school at the same time. After graduating, I went to university to study mathematics, statistics, pedagogics, physics and economics/business. During my studies, I was an active member in the different student unions and after my graduation; they employed me. My job among students was the position of the Secretary General in National Union of Vocational Students in Finland (SAKKI) and while I was working there, I realised that I could also extend my studies on management and business.

I decided to acquire a special qualification in management and business (Johtamisen erikoisammattitutkinto) and an apprenticeship which was suitable both for me and my employer. Now I have moved on from SAKKI and I am working in the Central Organisation of Finnish Trade Unions (SAK) as the Regional Union Organiser. I have almost finished my apprenticeship, so I truly recommend becoming an apprentice to anyone who wants to improve themselves during working life!
