As you know all great stories start with a brilliant idea.Same with our story. We teach math in SS Ivan Mestrovic, Croatia, in Electrical Engineering and Electromechanics Department. As many other children, our students are afraid of math, especially theory. However, they love practical part and want to develop different skills. We designed the Practice for Theory project for students to better understand the theory. As part of the subject Workshop Exercises, students make various teaching aids and models according to previously elaborated and exact mathematical instructions. In this way, through the practical application of the theory, they develop an in-depth understanding of abstract concepts, creative thinking and break down prejudices about mathematics as a difficult and unapplicable science. During this project, students develop skills, experience theory, and, most importantly, expand their own creativity. They also helped coming generations to learn theory easier. Furthermore, students filmed video about their projects to promote VTA professions to primary school A.M. Petropoljski students. It was shown during the online professional counselling about enrolment into high school.
