The Requalification Center opens new opportunities in machining sector for people of all ages and professions.

requalification centre

Since 1998, we have been operating in the machining sector, as one of the core sectors and competences of the Czech Industry. The VET system was not performing and the industrial players had been transforming their businesses from centrally planned economy into tough market economy. As the representative of SMEs, I was looking for change and something new that could help my country with a new VET system.

Stanislav Hoffmann and I had observed good practices in Europe, specifically in Germany and Austria. In Opava we started the private VET Requalification Centre in 2010, which focused on CNC programming, CNC machining and mechatronics. Since then, we were able to train and requalify hundreds of people in the city.

We have overcome typical obstacles and the resistance of students and teachers in traditional VET school by using modern technologies. We have developed three-step education for very expensive CNC technologies, universal for any IT programming languages. The first step focused on virtual education working with 3D projections of any action done by student. The second step continues on training CNC machines, which are error proof and not liable to damage by students. This allows for more creativity and less likely subject to damage costs on the machines. The last step undertakes real production on real CNC machines for real clients.

The Centre has now extended its focus to new branches, in areas such as mechatronics or CAD/CAM operations. We are glad to be fully privately financed and market proven concept.
