My experience with VET has started with the beginning of my job. My actual job position is Communication Expert for “Food Safety” Project (FSP). FSP is a project granted by EU and one of our objectives is to increase the academic capacities for students with knowledge in food safety field.

As a food safety field professional, during the last years I have had the possibility to work with professional school projects and understand the importance of vocational education. The benefits of vocational education are great and highly prepare the graduated students for entering the labour market. Recognizing those benefits, in the capacity of mother, I highly recommend vocational education to all the youngster generation.
From this kind of perspective and personal experience, I am glad to having registered my son as a student of Technology of Information and Communication at “Gjergji Cano” Professional School for the 2020-2021 academic school year.

I contributed to the Skills for Safer Life webinar that was linked to Albanian Skills Week this year. The webinar aimed to identify some of the greatest issues in terms of food safety, occupational safety and mental health in Albania, which were discussed by experts in the relevant fields. Practical tips for all three areas mentioned above were presented during the activity.
We collaborated by making a presentation of FSP for all the audience, sharing with them general knowledge about this 4 year project, granted by EU.

Furthermore, we organized a Quiz named “Wheel of Knowledge”, with practical advices on food safety. This quiz revealed the audience`s knowledge on “Food Safety Hazards at Home”. The participation in Skills for Safer Life – Food Safety Seminar was higher than expected and all the participants were actively involved during the webinar.
