Taking care of the environment in Ireland

My name is Tim and I am seventeen years old. I am a high school student of biotechnology in Ptuj. Every year, we have to do some practical training in local companies, but this year I decided to grab the opportunity to do it as a part of student mobility in Ireland. Unfortunately, we were there only one week because of the coronavirus breakout. On Monday - the first day, we met with our Irish families and employers. I worked at the nearest Community centre. As I am an environmental technician my tasks included landscaping (mowing grass, raking leaves, …), and I could also watch the nesting of birds. My mentor was an archaeologist, so I helped him with that too. Our families also took us on daily trips to the ocean and nearest hills.

I really liked the experience and I would certainly recommend it to everyone. I sincerely hope I get a chance for another student mobility.
