- Teaching and training
I was born in Adıyaman in 1968. After secondary education, I started working as an apprentice electrician. I was not planning to attend high school because I wanted to work and I had a good salary for the time.
But one day, a neighbour of ours paid us a visit during Eid, or Ramadan, and encouraged me to enrol in a vocational high school.
I graduated from a technical high school, then from a technical education programme, and since then I’ve been a technical education teacher.
Over the past 30 years, I’ve worked at vocational high schools as a teacher and a manager in various positions, educating students.
Vocational education has had important impact on my ability to earn a living and my plans for the future.
I’m glad that we had such a guest during that Eid visit, and I’m glad that I received a vocational education.
