I would like to tell you about my VET mobility experience in the Czech Republic in a small town called Znojmo. This town is in the south of Moravia, about two to three hours away. We travelled there by bus.
I am a nursing student at a secondary vocational school in Trnava, Slovakia and our VET mobility project focused on healthcare for 14 days. We cooperated with a secondary vocational school in Znojmo and did our practical training at a hospital there. We trained in various departments including surgery, the intensive care unit, the trauma unit and paediatrics.
I liked surgery the most. One time, we assisted during an operation on a woman with breast cancer. The hospital had better equipment than ours in Trnava, the doctors were very friendly and patient, and the nurses helped us and showed us how to do things. We worked from 6 am to 1 pm. After work, we had free time that we used for day trips.
On the last day that we attended their school, they gave us diplomas for taking part in Erasmus+. Erasmus gave me a lot of experience in my field, I met many new people, and I was able to experience a different level of healthcare in our neighbouring country compared to that at home.
