EDUFI
EDUFI is a national development agency working under the Ministry of Education and Culture and our tasks and organisation are set in our legislation.
Authoritative services:
EDUFI draws up the national core curricula for basic and upper secondary general education, as well as early childhood education and care.
It prepares and decrees the national requirements for qualifications within the Finnish vocational qualification structure. In addition, the agency takes part in preparing education policy decisions and regulates, guides and gives recommendations on the decision-making.
The agency maintains a register of student admissions in upper secondary, vocational, and higher education institutions, offers language examinations, funds and organises further training for teachers and other personnel in the field of education, and is in charge of the recognition of foreign qualifications.
EDUFI is also a provider of education, responsible for six State-run educational institutions.
Development:
EDUFI supports the development of education and the promotion of internationalisation by participating in development partnerships, financially supporting education, offering services in training and consultation, organising education development projects and by offering information services.
EDUFI supports the internationalisation of Finnish society by, for example, enacting programmes and contracts that promote internationality and by producing data regarding internationalisation.
EDUFI coordinates information system and data register services and produces performance indicators and anticipatory data for the educational field. It gathers information about State subsidies in the educational system and produces and develops limited-circulation learning materials.
Our vision is ‘Everyone can grow to their full potential’ and our mission is ‘Passion for learning!’.
Our way of working can be described with the following four approaches: we create trust through openness, we design solutions together, we can reinvent ourselves for the benefit of the learner, and we walk the talk.
