My best summer decision

My interest in joining INCIEN was based on a desire to learn more about the circular economy (CE) specifically as well as environmental policy in general. It was interesting to explore the topics from the practical side. The internship allowed me to gain an insight into the industry and the potential job opportunities within it, as well as to understand how NGOs, the public and private sector interact. I was presented with opportunities to take part in very varied activities: from working on writing my first publication to helping organize expert conferences. Another thing I particularly enjoyed was researching topics in preparation for meetings or for writing publications, as it was an interesting experience to do research from a less academic and more practical viewpoint than at university. Furthermore, I was able to enhance my soft skills such as working in a team to cooperate on projects by dividing the tasks between us. I loved how CE is such an overarching topic which connects everything from legislation through economics to policy making. The internship has given me many opportunities to evolve both personally and professionally, and I am hugely grateful for the experience.
