A nurse! A hero!

I am 20 years old and I am the Maltese ambassador for 2020. I'm also a 3rd year Nursing student.

I have always been interested in the medical field. However, when I was 12 years-old my grandpa became sick and I had spent a lot of time in the hospital. The nurses in the hospital were there for me and my family. This exprience grew my admiration for nurses, since then I knew that I want to become a nurse. I started my journey after finishing secondary school and achieving my O' Levels. I have applied for a two-year course at MCAST which allowed me to have clinical placements. This vocational course has made me assertive to become a nurse and help patients the best way I can.

After finishing my course, I applied for a degree course at MCAST in collaboration with Northumbria University, This three-year-course offered clinical practice both in hospital and in local clinics. Moreover, I also had the opportunity to go to Newcastle on ERASMUS Exchange+. This VET is a demanding but satisfying experience and I would do it again! Now I am waiting to finish my final year and graduate in 2021. Looking forward to what the future holds for me!
