Opening Event of the European Skills Week

At this event, Commissioner Thyssen and the vice-minister president of the Flemish Government and Flemish Minister of Education Hilde Crevits, opened the European Vocational Skills Week.

The event took place in the 'Leerhaven', a VET school in the Antwerp region offering courses in maritime sciences for primary, secondary and adult education.

Both the commissioner and the minister opened the week together with several students and invited people. As an official opening, the commissioner and the minister baptized the vessel 'Europa' - a small vessel which had been renovated by the students in the last few months.
