I'm Ali, 17 years old, and I'm a high school student in the field of tourism. So why did I choose a vocational and technical education? Nowadays, our government and other governments really need specialists other than doctors, engineers, architects and such.
That's why I thought I should study VET, to build a good future for myself and my family. In my opinion, the government in Turkey supports vocational schools financially more than Anatolian schools . How did I start vocational and technical education?
Actually, at first, I had no idea about these schools. I researched my school over a couple of days and, to be honest, I liked its facilities. My first and best experience was travelling. Last summer, I went to Fethiye.
The experience is over now but I still dream of being there. You ask why – because I felt that I really enjoyed my life for the first time. I worked hard but I travelled, discovered, met foreigners and, most importantly, I had fun.
