I wanted to be a teacher – I always knew it. I got the degree, but I didn’t sit the public examination because I decided to stay home with my daughter.
When she got older, I was a 55-year-old divorced mother that was now the head of the household. I barely had any money left. I was long-term unemployed – I hadn’t worked for 10 years... I was at an age at which I felt too old for certain things, but too young to retire.
Luckily, I received an unexpected call from IDEA Alzira offering me a VET course on management and administration. It was very educational, and I learned so many things. After that, I had a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for an Erasmus+ mobility opportunity in Vasto, Italy.
I finished IDEA the 29th, and the 30th I had a job as a teacher in a workshop for adults. At IDEA, they trained me to be the best professional that I could be for this job, and I’m so grateful for that. To learn more about it, you can watch her short interview by clicking on the link below.
