Our company, Femxa, is a training partner in the FOLM project, an initiative with 990 young people from Spain, Ireland and Poland based on the outdoors methodology created for the University of Edinburgh and improved to provide better training for employment.
The following techniques increased the employability of the students: six to seven days of training in nature outside the cities, and online sessions, with the strong collaboration between trainers, coaches and mentors nurturing the soft skills of young people and cultivating critical thinking.
The New Education Forum 2018 platform was the starting point for the promotion of the outdoors methodology at the European level. In 2022, the project completed 4 years and came to an end.
At least 82 % of Spanish students achieved their goal of resuming studies or finding a job, and the involvement of the Government of Cantabria has made the implementation of the outdoors methodology in VET schools possible. In summary, a successful and inspiring model of youth motivation and training for employment has been established in this region.
