As a teacher in a vocational school, I find it important to teach my trainees topics such as diversity and intercultural competence. So, 7 years ago we started working together with Spain and Bulgaria in Erasmus projects.
We organised joint project weeks, e.g. for sustainable animal husbandry. Parts of the project were realised in Spain, Bulgaria and Germany. The insight into other education systems was exciting and profitable for all partners.
The developed materials are used in our school and offer the trainees an exciting and instructive insight into sustainable animal husbandry in different countries. In addition to the factual knowledge, it was particularly successful regarding the soft skills of our VET learners that were developed strongly through our cross-border teaching and learning activities.
In the photo you can see Andalusian Iberico pigs from an organic farm, which we got to know during the project. We are very pleased that such encounters within the German formal dual VET system are possible with the help of Erasmus+, and would never want to miss it again.
