My name is Jenna and I live in Vaasa, Finland. I am a last year tourism student, studying to be a receptionist. Ever since we started school we were engouraged to go do a working practice abroad. So in January of 2020 I left to Fuerteventura´s island to do a practical learning in a local hotel through a Erasmus+ project.

The 7 weeks spent in Corralejo, Fuerteventura taught me a lot. The hotel I worked at was great. All my colleagues were fantastic and they were a huge part of everything I learned there. Working in reception in Spain was different than in Finland but I know that this work experience is going to give me a lot in the future.

Leaving abroad for almost two months at 17 years old felt really scary even tought I had already traveled a lot in my life and seen a lot of different places. But I am so glad I did that. Seeing another culture really brought a great new aspect in my life. Overall the whole experience was really great and it is something that I will always cherish and be grateful for a opportunity like that.
