Once Luc Bleumer (23) wanted to become an underwater welder. Now, together with his brother Roel, he runs a company in solar-powered generators. "I never thought that I would start my own company during my training in control technology."

"A business of my own was not my dream. Roel and I just happened to start it four years ago. He needed my hands to assemble electrical systems for his college graduation project," says Luc Bleumer. Roel wanted to make a solar-powered mobile aggregate by placing a folding construction with solar panels on a trailer. And Luc was looking for an internship for his control engineering training.

Luc and Roel are still building solar-powered mobile generators. They have now developed their prototype into three types that are used at festivals. The brothers now have three permanent employees and supervise interns from HAN and a secondary a secondary school.

"As an entrepreneur you have a different profession every day. That is what makes it so interesting. You continue to develop and amaze yourself. The work that I do now gives me more than I had previously expected from my education and from myself".
